2nd and 3rd generations lead the way
Larry and Matt Jensen, father and son, are second- and third-generation descendants of Barbara and Dick Joule, who founded Joule Yacht Transport, Inc. in 1954.
Larry grew up in the business helping Dick haul boats out of the water locally on Long Island in the 1960s and 70s. He tells stories of learning to drive a semi-tractor by the time he was 15 and even taking the tractor to get himself to high school in his senior year.
He worked hard to learn every aspect of the local business, and when his parents expanded Joule Yacht Transport to serve as an interstate carrier with an office in central New Jersey and establishing a main terminal in Florida, Larry was right there working side-by-side with his parents.
Matt also spent a lot of his younger years working part time for the company at the main terminal in the shop and office. Since his graduation from the University of South Florida with a business Management degree, he has been working in the Operations end of the business, learning from his parents just as his father did. Matt works hand-in-hand with many manufacturers and dealers, quoting jobs, scheduling moves, and dispatching our team of transport specialists.
Truly a family affair, Larry and Matt are joined by their wives, Jackie and Melissa, in the daily operations of JYT along with a fantastic group of employees, many of whom have been with Joule Yacht for 10, 20, 30+ years.
You can’t ask for a more qualified group of people to be transporting your boats throughout the US and Canada!
